Lac du Guerledan

Location: Situated alongside the N164 some 20km west of Loudéac.
Description:
About 40km south of St Brieuc,  the Guerledan lake is a beautiful winding reservoir, in an attractive setting with the Forest of Quénecan just to the south offering attractive hills up to 287 metres high.  There you will find more lakes and some good marked footpaths.

Our recommendations: Follow the D31 north from St Aignan to an excellent viewpoint of the dam.  Have a look at the Gorges du Daoulas by following the D44 north from Les Forges des Salles where you will find an old industrial museum.

For the children: Take swimming costumes if you fancy a dip; alternatively try your hand on the pedaloes or canoes.

Set between two wooded hills, the 4km long lake is the centrepiece of a beautiful area of Brittany offering watersports, a delightful little town, an impressive Château and a number of good restaurants.

Our recommendations:
For water lovers there is sailing, windsurfing or canoeing available on the lake.  The lake also offers plenty of variety for walking or gentle cycle rides.  The Château de la Hunaudaye is well worth a visit.
For the children: Visit the Ferme d’Antan (www.ferme-dantan22.com) in Saint-Esprit-des-Bois, where an early 20th century farm has been reconstructed.
