Kids Favourites in the Dordogne:

To help you decide the places that your children will most enjoy we decided to list here the top 10 things our children liked to do in the Dordogne.  This is not a scientific process as children tend to only remember the things they have done on recent holidays and obviously it is influence by the child's age and whether they are a boy and a girl.  The list that follows is averaged over 7 children, 2 boys and 5 girls, ranging in age from 6 to 16.

2. The Corn Maze.  Splendid challenge even for the young ones.

3. Château de Marqueyssac (right).  Spectacular setting with delightful gardens.

4= Château de Castlenaud.  Interactive displays to engage the children in this superbly situated chateau.

4= Gouffre du Proumeyssac.  Arguably the best caves in the region.

Sarlat6.  Sarlat.  A charming town (left) with many shops to browse in the old town and lovely ice creams on sale!

7.  La Tour Water Mill.  Interesting museum with real life displays.

8.  La Roc St Cristophe.  A dramatic situation with delightful views.

9.  Château Biron. 

10.  Château de Beynac.  The most amazing setting atop a steep cliff alongside the Dordogne.
