Scarecrow displays in MeyralsDordogne Attractions  Don't be misled by the fact that there are only three major attractions listed here.  The  Dordogne is full of places to visit, so many that they have separate groupings of their own - see our sections on caves, chateaux, museums and towns.  The attractions listed here don't fit into another grouping but are worthy of a mention.  Pictured opposite are the fascinating scarecrow displays in Meyrals on the D35 between Le Bugue and Sarlat.

Moulin de la TourMoulin de la Tour

Location: 8km east of Sarlat off the D47 in Ste Nathalène.
General Info: Open every Friday, plus Mondays and Wednesdays in peak season.  Tel. 05 53 59 22 08
Description: One of the few working walnut presses in the Dordogne.  Very friendly guides also work the presses and give very
Inside the Moulin de la Tourinteresting demonstrations throughout.  This is a small family concern and is very welcoming.  You are able to buy walnut, hazelnut and almond products at the end of the tour.
Our recommendations: Take a guided tour in English.  You could easily combine this with a visit to the Gardens at Manoir d’Eyrignac.
For the children: You won’t be able to spend a day there but their attention will be held well by the interesting demonstrations given by enthusiastic people who really know what they are talking about.
