Cordes-Sur-CielLot-et-Garonne Towns  The quality of towns and villages here gives the Dordogne a good run for its money! It possesses some real gems, several of which are considered to be the prettiest villages in the whole of France, such as Cordes-sur-Ciel, Puy l'Eveque or our personal favourite St Cirq-Lapopie.  No visit to Lot-et-Garonne can be complete without spending at least some time in one or other of these!

Puy L’Evêque

Puy L’EvêqueLocation: 35km west of Cahors on the D911.
General Info: Tourist office website (French only).

Description:
Puy L’Evêque is a lovely old town situated alongside one of the many meanders of the river Lot.

Our recommendations:
A delightful approach to the town can be made by following the D8 from Cahors on the south side of the river, giving you the chance to stop at one of the innumerable vineyards and châteaux en route for wine tasting.  For more details see our wine section.
For the children: Take a canoe trip on the river.

Worth a detour
