Nord Pas de Calais Attractions  This area of France gets rushed past by hordes heading south, but has some gems that can be enjoyed both  for a holiday close to home, as well as day trips to experience French culture rather than having a booze cruise!  Plan a day trip well and there will be time not only to stock up on wine and spirits, but also to visit a local attraction such as Nausicaa or La Coupole and then top the day off with a meal in a French restaurant!

Location: There are two such adventure parks in the Nord Pas de Calais, one at Guines (about 10km south of Calais, the park is at Campagne-les-Guines off the D215 south of the village), the other at Olhain (6km south of Bethune, access is off the D301 at Barlin)
General Info:  Website.  Tel: 06 87 61 32 72 (Guines) and 03 21 25 15 53 (Olhain).  €23 for 2-3 hours activities either in the morning or afternoon.  Opening from March to November, in peak season open daily from 9AM – 7PM.
Description: Be Tarzan for the day, enjoying tree top fun with ropes! A similar concept to Tepacap which is featured in several other places on this site, this adventure park is sure to provide excellent active entertainment for older children and even Mums and Dads!
For the children: The centre at Olhain (but not at Guines) has a circuit for 5-10 year olds. It costs €12 and children must be accompanied by an adult who stays on the ground.  Otherwise you must be at least 10 years old and 1.4m tall to use these adventure parks.
