The Nord Pas de Calais region is so often passed by as tourists rush to more southern climes.  And it's a shame.  It is true to say that the weather is more akin to that of Southern England, but in the summer it can be very pleasant and there are some splendid sights to be seen with delightful coastline and sleepy villages further inland.

We bring you a wealth of information on this region including the best towns, tourist attractions, beaches, restaurants and markets.  If there is anything you think we should add, please use our feedback form.

Day Trips  We take great pleasure once or twice a year in planning day trips to France.  The cost is substantially less than a complete holiday due in no small part to the attractive deals offered by the ferry and train operators.  Many people use these simply for stocking up on booze, whereas we prefer to have a day immersed in French culture, taking the opportunity to visit one of the attractions in the area as well as planning a meal in one of our favourite restaurants.

Temperature ProfileWeather.. in the Nord Pas de Calais region is very similar to that in the UK, heavily influenced by the Atlantic, resulting in a mild climate and yet affected by higher rainfall than most areas of France.  More...
